Advanced Placement

We recognize that excellence comes in many forms, and we want to honor your accomplishments in the Advanced Placement program. We want AP students like you because you help us set the bar and demonstrate the work ethic and self-discipline needed to succeed.

More and more AP students are choosing the University of Alberta. Perhaps this is because we are proud to recognize our AP students with outstanding benefits and services.

AP Grade Conversion Table

We will convert your AP scores into percentages to calculate your admission average:

AP Result Percent Equivalent
5 96%
4 86%
3 76%
2 65%

If you are completing an AP exam and the related high school course, we will use the higher of the two grades for admission. For example, if you present both English AP and English 30-1, we will use the higher of the two English grades when calculating your admission average.
