Admissions
Final Admission Based on Predicted Scores for Full IB Diploma Candidates
The University of Alberta offers full IB Diploma candidates final admission based on predicted scores to all direct-entry Faculties! To be considered for admission through this process, you need to:
- Apply to the University of Alberta.
- Present six IB courses, five of which need to be the required subjects for your program.
- Present a competitive diploma score (PDF) with no grade less than four. Competitive scores range from 30-35 points (including additional points) depending on your program.
- Have the Predicted IB Grades Form (PDF) completed and authenticated by your IB Coordinator.
- Have your IB Coordinator submit your predicted scores to the University of Alberta as soon as possible.
IB Diploma students who do not meet the competitive diploma score and IB Certificate students can be considered for early admission by sending all interim and final Grade 12 grades with full course names to the IB Advisor.

Scholarships
IB students are eligible for multiple scholarships, including Academic Excellence and Leadership awards, as well as IB-specific awards.
Advanced Standing
IB Transfer Credit
The University of Alberta is recognized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) as an institution that demonstrates exemplary recognition policies through transfer credit, advanced placement and CSA.

If you are completing an IB class and the related high school course, we will use the higher of the two grades for admission. For example, if you present both IB English and English 30-1, we will use the higher of the two English grades when calculating your admission average.
