Come Visit Us!

Our Campus Visit Program is an excellent way to explore our beautiful campuses and first-year residences, speak with an advisor, and meet current students. You can book a visit at our North Campus in the heart of Edmonton, Alberta. Campus Saint-Jean and Augustana Campus also offer specialized visits for guests to experience the unique opportunities they have available.

Campus Visits are regularly available Monday through Friday during business hours. Visits are not available outside of business hours or on weekends and holidays.

Each year, we welcome a wide variety of guests to the University of Alberta for a Campus Visit. Before you start planning your day, read below to find out which guest category is most applicable to you!

Prospective Students

This guest category is for individuals who are thinking about studying at the University of Alberta in the future and are interested in exploring what our institution has to offer.

Organizer of a Group Visit

If you are planning a Campus Visit to the University of Alberta for a group of participants (students in Grades 1 through 12, members of an extra-curricular program or exchange, etc) this category is for you. When filling out your booking form, you will have the opportunity to provide us with more details about your group and the Campus Visit options you were hoping to include.

Educational Professional

This guest category is for teachers, counselors, professors, administrators or other educational professionals interested in visiting the University of Alberta without a group of students.

Member of the Public

If you would like to book a campus visit at the University of Alberta but are not a prospective student, educational professional, or organizer of a group, this guest category is for you.


Campus Visit Options

Learn more about our various Campus Visit options to help you plan your visit to the University of Alberta! In addition to selecting one or more of these options, please include any other pertinent details about areas of focus or interest on your booking form to help ensure that your visit best suits your needs and/or those of your group.

General Campus Tour

Join us to discover the spaces, places, and people of the University of Alberta! All Campus Tours begin with a short presentation and opportunity to connect with advisors, followed by a comprehensive 60 minute walking tour. The walking tour, led by current UAlberta students, showcases the history, purpose, and quirks of the most popular buildings on our North Campus. Plan to dress for the weather, as this tour takes place mostly outdoors!

Sustainability Campus Tour

This 60 minute walking tour focuses on the facts and features of the University of Alberta that make it one of the highest ranked universities in Canada for sustainability performance. Led by current UAlberta students with a passion for sustainability, this is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the University of Alberta’s commitment to sustainability. Plan to dress for the weather, as this tour takes place mostly outdoors!

Lister Residence Tour

This 45 minute walking tour of Lister Hall, our traditional first-year dormitory, provides guests with an accurate and engaging view of what life is like as a resident at the University of Alberta.

Faculty Academic Advising Session

Faculty Academic Advising sessions provide guests who know what they'd like to study with an opportunity to learn more about this specific area of interest by speaking with a Faculty Advisor. Bring your questions and prepare to learn more about applying, admission, registration, faculty-specific groups, clubs and more!

Not sure what you'd like to study? All Campus Tours begin with a short presentation and opportunity to connect with Advisors, and if you have more questions following your visit, you are always welcome to return to Student Connect in the Administration Building and speak with our Advisors again!

Academic Presentation

Led by one of our advisors, academic presentations provide visiting groups with the opportunity to learn about University of Alberta programs, admission requirements, the application process, registration, campus community and supports, student services and more.

Aboriginal Focus

The University of Alberta is proud to have over 1000 self-identified Aboriginal students. By requesting an Aboriginal focus in your Campus Visit registration, you will learn about our Aboriginal campus community and the supports and services available to our Aboriginal students.

International Focus

The University of Alberta is proud to have over 5000 International students from 170 countries. By identifying yourself or others in your group as International students in your Campus Visit registration, you will learn more about our International campus community and the additional services and supports available.

Campus Visit for Young Guests

The Campus Visit Program is happy to accommodate visits for all age groups. Our interactive scavenger hunt tour is available for elementary school age guests to introduce the idea of university and what it has to offer. If you are interested in bringing a group of younger children to campus or combining a Campus Tour with other on-campus curriculum-related activities as part of a field trip, please include those details in your request through our booking form.


Academic Advising in Calgary, AB

Hoping to speak to a UAlberta Advisor but can't make it to Edmonton? No problem!

The University of Alberta Calgary Centre is located in downtown Calgary and home to Erin Wilkinson, Calgary Recruitment Advisor. Prospective undergraduate students wishing to receive academic advising can book an appointment with Erin using our online Calgary Centre Academic Advising Request Form.

Please note: the Calgary Centre offers only Academic Advising for prospective undergraduate students. Guests wishing to visit UAlberta teaching campuses (Edmonton, AB and/or Camrose, AB) should click the "Book a Campus Visit" button at the top of this page.


Accessibility

The University of Alberta is committed to accessibility for all students and guests. Accessible tour routes, sign language interpreting services, real time captioning, and other access-related services and/or accommodations can be arranged. Please include any accessibility requests or additional details in your Campus Visit registration.


Self-Guided Campus Tour


In addition to tours offered through our Campus Visit Program, we have created a Self-Guided Tour (PDF) of our North Campus for you to download. During your self-guided campus tour, you will visit 20 of the most commonly used destinations on campus.

You are welcome to enter buildings and explore them further during their operating hours. Please keep in mind that classes may be in session and some areas (i.e. Faculty offices) are not open to the public.
